Despite tempting offers of breakfast in bed and the classic Father’s Day haul of jocks and socks (cheers, Mother!), a keen crowd of sailors couldn’t resist heading out for another round at Manly marina.

It was another warm and sunny day at the Manly marina. Competitors were greeted by light and variable south-westerly winds, which created challenging conditions for sailing in the gentle breezes.

The weather certainly delivered for the competitors—warm sunshine and a fresh south-easterly breeze made for a picture-perfect day on the water. The very first Offshore Classic brought together a very competitive fleet of 18 boats from local clubs, all keen to put their open water skills to the test.

Competitors faced a brisk Brisbane winter’s day, with rare reports of snow gracing parts of Queensland.

It was a classic Brisbane winter’s day—warm, bright, and somewhat challenging for a race.

We encountered a low tide and, true to a Brisbane July, a gentle south-westerly breeze that ranged from barely-there to utterly calm.

The Sovereign Cup wraps up the WMRMYC’s “beginners to winners” (B2W) talks with a fun-filled flurry at the end of autumn. This lively practice regatta is where all the wisdom of the last ten weeks gets its real-world test—sometimes with surprising results!

It was another wonderful day of racing at the Manly marina. A total of 23 boats participated under calm and sunny conditions, with light and variable south-westerly winds.

The intense rain, having ceased on Saturday evening, allowed clear skies to prevail at the marina, encouraging twenty sailors to engage in sailing activities this morning. The conditions were optimal, with Southern winds blowing at 10-15 km/hr, occasionally gusting stronger.

Race results posted a little late due to me being on holiday.

Great racing in the Manly Harbour, the combined Easter Challenge and Round 6 of the Summer Series.

6th April saw our round 6 of the Scratch series being battled out in the harbour.

Muir Marine day say teams of df65s and IOMs compete for some great prices. Conditions were sunny, but low winds.

After last week’s devastating cyclone "Alfred", we faced fickle North-Easterly winds and a significant accumulation of debris in the water.

Scratch Race 5 2^nd March 2025

Today’s competitors experienced the initial winds from Cyclone “Alfred,” which brought fresh southeast winds. The cyclone (Category 2) is currently off the coast of Bundaberg, moving down the coast and expected to make landfall near Brisbane later this week.

Following the excitement of the last race, an error was identified in the race results. The winning DF65 (Colin #35) was so far ahead that he was mistakenly recorded as finishing in last place!

The IOM class had a strong turnout with 18 boats, while the DF65 fleet consisted of seven boats, contending with both light winds and seaweed.
