We had eleven boats in each fleet, once again leaders went from hero to zero if they did not pick (guess) the wind shifts.

The onset of autumn marked the return of westerly winds. Sunday was unusually hot causing the light westerly wind to occasionally flick to an Eastley as the land warmed during the morning. Okay it did go Northly and Southerly too, in fact all points of the compass!

Week 10 of this B2W course concluded with a practice regatta for the Sheep Station Trophy. First and Second place were taken by absolute Beginners, which goes to show the course is all you need to win races on the Wading Pool.

The Wynnum Manly Radio Model Yacht Club (WMRMYC) held its highly anticipated 1650 Teams Event on Sunday, 29 March 2026. Sponsored by Muir Marine, the "Fun Day" brought together a diverse fleet of IOM (International One Metre) and DF65 (DragonForce 65) yachts for a unique tag-team challenge at the Manly Marina.

Despite a forecast for rain, fresh easterly winds (16 km/hr) created perfect race conditions on a warm sunny morning. Initially the wind direction was from the southeast before shifting eastly and picking up speed mid-morning.

Fifteen sailors took on the rain and cold weather this morning.

Today’s competitors faced another hot Brisbane day, with temperatures reaching 30°C and only minimal relief from a gentle breeze.

Despite a record-breaking heat wave, twenty-one competitors rolled up to race in the 2026 New Year’s IOM and DF65 fleet trophies.

Despite Cyclone Koji smashing into North Queensland and out of control fires South of the boarder, twenty-three sailors came out to race in perfect Brisbane conditions.

The Christmas Handicap Race ended 2025, with twenty-nine boats vying for Lion’s club cakes and puddings.

The Wynnum Wading Pool played host to the 2nd Annual Christmas Lights Twilight Sail, a community-focused model yacht racing event. Building on the success of the inaugural year, the event saw a significant increase in both participant creativity and spectator attendance, further cementing its place as a staple of the local festive calendar.
