Winter Series Scratch Race 2 7th June 2026

What a wonderful day to sail on the Manly Marina, the race was a game of two halves!

The day started with light Westerly winds, slightly above drifting conditions. This all changed during the mid-race break when the wind picked up and turned South Easterly. This provided a steady 12 km/hr wind with the odd gust to keep everyone on their toes.

The racing was at the highest level; many families and walkers stopped to watch the event. We had some very close racing. Of special note is that John McLachlan had his first scratch win, beating the rest of the IOM fleet by a considerable margin.

What started as a marginal Westerly race, turned into a fantastic day on the water, with everyone having a great time.

Thanks again to all the volunteers who lent a hand to make this another fun day.
