Winter Series – Race 3 6th July 2025
We encountered a low tide and, true to a Brisbane July, a gentle south-westerly breeze that ranged from barely-there to utterly calm. Each fleeting puff of wind handed the race advantage to whichever sailor happened to catch it, turning the leaderboard into a game of skill (chance). Adding a touch of unpredictability, the Buoybots occasionally nudged the odd boat - sometimes lending a helpful push, other times less helpful.
Yet, in spite of these challenges, the day was blessed with warmth and sunshine, the kind of winter’s day Brisbane is famous for. It proved ideal for honing skills in light and drifting conditions. Undeterred, we pressed on through the morning and managed to complete eight races, making the most of every opportunity the fickle weather provided.
A heartfelt thank you goes once again to the race officers, whose unwavering dedication and effort ensure that every meeting runs seamlessly. Their behind-the-scenes commitment is the steady current beneath each day’s racing success.
