Scratch Race 1st February 2026

Today’s competitors faced another hot Brisbane day, with temperatures reaching 30°C and only minimal relief from a gentle breeze.

The day began with a calm almost glassy look to the water, as forecast the light North Easterly wind built during the morning to 10km/h.

Despite the heat, the racing was fiercely competitive. In the IOM class, Trevor secured first place after a countback.

The DF65 class was just as close, with Russell edging out the competition by a slim 0.6-point margin. Slab had a great race taking third place. Welcome to Paul who did an amazing job on his first race, sailing with an “A” sail and still taking 8th place.

Once again, a big thankyou to the race officials and assistants for organising the racing and making it fun.
