Winter Series Scratch Race 5 - 7th Sept 2025
Despite tempting offers of breakfast in bed and the classic Father’s Day haul of jocks and socks (cheers, Mother!), a keen crowd of sailors couldn’t resist heading out for another round at Manly marina.
The Brisbane weather turned it on, serving up a cracking day, warm, sunny, and with a steady easterly breeze. Each fleet enjoyed their own upwind battle, with just a single heart-stopping moment when the DF sailors tacked through the IOMs powering downwind.
The results sheet shows how tight the racing was, especially in the DF fleet, where only fractions separated the top three.
Big thanks to our dedicated volunteers for putting on a top morning’s racing. There were more laughs than protests, and everyone walked away with a smile.
