Winter Series Race 4 – 3rd August 2025

Competitors faced a brisk Brisbane winter’s day, with rare reports of snow gracing parts of Queensland, a true once-in-a-decade event. Some sailors chose the warmth of extra doona time over the blustery conditions, but those who made it out were rewarded with sunshine that brought much-needed warmth to the control area’s shelter.

Westerly winds whipped across the marina, stirring up both the water and the challenge, putting everyone’s sailing skills (and patience) to the test. The determined few took to the course, navigating shifty gusts and ever-changing breezes with quick thinking and plenty of tactical tacks.

On a positive note, the Council has added a fresh yellow line along the pathway—an added safety measure to help keep everyone away from the edge.
