Summer Scratch Race 1 2nd November 2025
Summer has well and truly arrived, and Sunday finally gave us a break from the run of thunderstorm forecasts. Sailors were greeted by a cracker of a morning, with a gentle 10km/hr nor’easter setting up perfect conditions for the 18 competitors and a lively crowd of spectators.
Families and folks out for a stroll often paused to watch the action, and as usual, the classic question popped up: “Where’s the boat’s engine?”
Peter K. had clearly dialled in his new boat, #90 “Wombat”, leading the IOM class with style. In the DF65 class, Will and Russell had a nail-biter, with Will just edging ahead to claim first place by a single point.
The BuoyBots were in action sporting their new weed screens. Although there wasn’t a great deal of floating debris in the water the BuoyBots worked flawlessly through the event.
