Round 6 Summer Series 21st April 2024

The weather forecast was for rain and on this day the forecast was correct!!

On arrival at the harbour we were greeted with rain showers and chilly light winds.

We assembled in the shelter and our esteemed Commodore took the opportunity to give the competitors an update on matters relating to the club.

In particular, a plea to help run our fun club. The greatness of any club/organisation is the sum of the energy that is put into the club. That energy typically comes from too few who eventually burn out and clubs then fold. To be sustainable, a club must have many members putting in small amounts of energy on a regular reliable basis. Please put your hand up if you can add a little bit of energy to our fun club.

The rain continued and we had a vote to hold the event or abandon - 100% said ''let's go racing". Hardy lot this WMRMYC crew.

Andrew and Peter sent the upgraded BouyBots out onto the course and the racing began.

We dodged a few heavy showers and managed to complete 7 races in a light southerly, variable breeze.

John our dedicated scorer, dressed in his old jackaroo gear, worked on the results while Trevor and Ian sat outside in the rain having a beer. Odd behaviour??

Congratulations to everyone.
