Summer Scratch Series Round 6 - 7 April 2024
Despite a lousy forecast with over 30mm of rain expected, it was a lovely day on the harbour. Variable winds frustrated a lot of skippers and gave me a good laugh when they worked in my favour, which wasn’t often enough. A medium size fleet and some good racing with 16 boats on the water, made up of 10 IOMs and 6 DF65s. There seemed to be some very close racing at times especially in the DF65 class. Congratulations to all the winners. Andrew’s new version buoybots worked really well and the club’s old fleet will be replaced by these in the near future. Well done and thanks to all the helpers on safety boat, course setting, buoybot handling, and of course to John for scoring. Great stuff and thanks to all for another enjoyable day racing with this club.
