JL Sullivan and PG Kampe Trophy results 2023

Yet another morning of Fun Racing in the Harbour. Grey overcast weather greeted the competitors and light rain fell during set up. However, the rain went away, and we had light to moderate winds throughout the morning. Initially from the south and turning more to the east later in the morning.

Eight IOM skippers raced for the JL Sullivan Handicap Trophy and Six DF65 skippers raced for the inaugural PG Kampe handicap trophy.

Friendly banter was heard throughout the morning.

The winner this year of the JL Sullivan Handicap Trophy was Peter Harris, John Mc Lachlan was runner up and Bradley Hill in third place. 6 individual race winners.

The inaugural PG Kampe Handicap Trophy was won by Greg Carter, Paul Pearson was runner up and Bob Good in third place.

Racing was followed by the traditional trophy day Big sausage sizzle. Not one sausage left thanks to Andrew and Peter.

Thanks to everyone who helped set up and take down, fetching and returning the dinghy, scoring, operating Buoybots etc. Great team effort.

Join us for more Fun next Sunday 1st October for round 6 (final Round) of the winter series Scratch Racing followed by “Have a go Sunday” at midday. Please support ‘Have a Go Sunday’ by staying after racing and having your boat available for a trial sail.
