Radio Controlled Yacht Racing
Competitive and fun sailing for everyone
Radio Controlled?
The yachts are controlled from the shore using a radio transmitter. There are 2 controls on the transmitter, one for the rudder and one for trimming the sails.
Radio controllers are simple to use. No prior experience with controllers (game controllers) is necessary. Anyone can do it.
What is great about radio yacht racing?
It is an excellent, low-cost way to learn how to sail. Our sailing school “Beginners to Winners” will teach you the basics.
Once you know the basics you can advance to racing your yacht around courses in harbours and lakes around Brisbane and beyond. You can choose to race at club level or to test your skills at state, national and international level.
Our club members race regularly. We race in beautiful surroundings with a bunch of like-minded people. We have a lot of fun. BBQ’s after racing are often held. Trophies, medallions and ribbons are abundant.
How do I get started?
Go to our club website, send us an email or call our friendly Commodore for a chat.
We will arrange for you to have a try at sailing a RC Yacht and meet some of our friendly members.
Join our fun club and then purchase a yacht. Entry level yachts cost approximately $400.
